If artificial intelligence turns us all into barbecue masters, then AI is likely to become our best backyard buddy. Introduced at the just concluded CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the Brisk It NeoSear Hybrid Innogrill 2.0 (not the catchiest name) employs generative AI as a grilling assistant. You may never cook indoors again.
Here’s the promise: “Imagine speaking with your grille, saying anything you can think of and then having the grill creating and cooking the perfect customized recipe all on its own,” says CEO Christoper Huang. That’s enough to get me salivating but it looks like this AI grill won’t be this summer’s hit. The company says the AI grills “will come when they’re ready” in late 2024 or 2025. No word on the price but they can probably charge what they want given our love of barbecue. Hopefully, it isn’t so much smoke. www.briskitgrills.com
AI was the star at CES. The news is that AI is moving beyond its software roots to become imbedded in actual devices, even TVs. That’s no guarantee of success; there’s a lot of rolling the dice here. If you’re interested in a full report of this development, I’ve written about it for a website called techstrong.ai. You’ll want to know how this Wehead desktop head (wehead.com) may be the future talking face of generative AI. https://techstrong.ai/articles/ces-2024-the-age-of-ai-hardware-arrives/
Remember Snow White’s magic mirror? That magic mirror is now for real but instead of appealing to your vanity, the Nuralogix mirror uses AI to tell you how healthy you look by analyzing facial blood vessels. (www.nuralogix.ai) Ok, maybe that’s 21st century vanity but it will tell you why you look like crap if that’s the case. So that beats general verbal abuse from family and friends. AI is broadly moving into the medical arena in a health and wellness role. (Don’t worry: AI isn’t operating yet.) AI even has a new role in monitoring the health of our cats and dogs. An AI Pet Tracker (around $130) from a company called Inoxia tells you what may be ailing your pets in conversational language. (inoxia.com) Again, I have a fuller report at techstrong.ai https://techstrong.ai/articles/ces-2024-ai-becomes-key-med-tech-and-wellness-ai/
No doubt AI is here to stay. At least AI got everyone to stop talking about the metaverse and augmented reality. Side note: check out my techstrong.ai story about an AI robot that moves physically faster than a human. It will mess with your marbles. P.S: I’m running with a new tagline for 2024. Tech That Matters. Let me know if you like it. Happy New Year!
BTW, my new book MADE IN NEW YORK, available on Amazon, employs no AI whatsoever. Word.
